Amazon shuts down Destinations hotel booking has shuttered its Amazon Destinations travel site less than six months after launching the service.

Travelers navigating to the website, where the company sold getaway vacations, are now greeted with a message that “Effective October 13, 2015, Amazon Destinations stopped selling hotel reservations.”

The website also noted that existing reservations are “valid and will be honored by the hotel.”

“We have learned a lot and have decided to discontinue Amazon Destinations.” the company said in a statement.

Amazon launched the service in April, hoping to sell close-to-home vacations, featuring destinations and hotels within a customer’s driving distance. The site focused on trips of one to three nights, and debuted with getaways near Seattle, Los Angeles and New York. In July, it added vacations near San Francisco, Atlanta, Houston and Boston.
